Throughout his tenure in the defense industry, he immersed himself in the intricacies of various mechanical systems, cultivating a wealth of expertise.

In 2015, Derek embarked on a transformative path, redirecting his focus towards his profound passion for sports. Venturing into entrepreneurship, he acquired a local sports store and committed himself fully to the sport of squash, simultaneously assuming the role of Head Coach for the Western Mustangs Men's Varsity Squash Team.

Sports and competition have been the #1 part of my life since as long as I can remember. I left an Engineering career to pursue full-time sports in the form of a Squash Professional, coaching the Western University Men's Squash team as well as purchasing a Racquet sports store.

Travelling has come one of my biggest passions in life. My first trip anywhere of note was at 24 years old to visit Dominican Republic for a one week vacation. It completely transformed what I thought travelling was. I went from thinking that saving my money for new TVs and "things" to realizing that those same things only prevent you from making some of the greatest memories of your life.

I am on the hunt for the best Thai food in London. Message me with what your thoughts are, and I'll go try out your favourite spot.

Having lived 30+ years of my life in London, ON, I always felt like we were missing something here. To me, Toronto & other big cities were the best and most interesting places to live. In 2019 I decided to live my dream and move to Toronto. I came to realize that living in city means you work more, you spend more, and life becomes more complicated simply because navigating the city is such a challenge. I moved back to London at the beginning of COVID and what a difference a year makes. London had never felt more like home. My biggest realization moving back to the city was that the people here, are what makes this city so incredible. We have a wonderful community that spans all walks of life and had I never left, I'd have regretted it and possibly resented this City when in reality, all I needed some something to compare it too for me to realize how much there is to offer here.
