Meet Marcus Plowright
Real Estate AgentMarcus is the A Team founder; a relentless business builder with a track record of 8 successful start ups over a 40-year career. Marcus’s volunteer work defines him and illustrates his desire to see this city succeed by supporting its heritage and its most vulnerable citizens.
In the 1980s, he played a pivotal role in the preservation efforts of historic landmarks such as the Talbot Block and Talbot Inn. Additionally, he advocated for the downtown construction of the London Knights' home rink, contributing to the revitalization of the area. Marcus's efforts also extended to facilitating the transformation of Kingsmill's iconic store into a vibrant hub for Fanshawe College's investment, faculty, and students, thereby fostering downtown development.
In the realm of urban progress, Marcus founded the "Build This City" advocacy group, which successfully lobbied for a $500 million investment in infrastructure development, known as the BRT, encompassing road, sewer, bike, and transit improvements.
For a span of seven years, Marcus chaired the "New Year’s Eve in the Park" celebrations on behalf of the City, supporting local musical talent and orchestrating a free celebration for 20,000 Londoners annually.
Marcus's dedication to addressing social issues is evident in his initiatives to combat homelessness. He conceptualized and secured a $25 million donation, along with a $5 million matching fund, leading to the establishment of the "Fund for Change" as the charitable entity supporting the "Whole of Community" plan. Marcus also played a crucial role in establishing "SafeSpace London," a facility offering support to vulnerable women in the community, and collaborated with Indwell to develop a 50-unit supportive housing facility. Furthermore, Marcus partnered with LHSC, London's largest employer, to expand access to healthcare services within the community, contributing significantly to the well-being of residents.
